Reprimanded

« Back to Glossary Index

Reprimanded means to be scolded, criticized, or punished for doing something wrong. It is often used in formal settings like workplaces, schools, or the military when someone in authority corrects bad behavior.

The teacher reprimanded Jake for talking loudly during the exam, warning him that any further disruption would lead to serious consequences. His face turned red with embarrassment as the entire class fell silent. Although he hadn’t meant to disturb anyone, he knew he had broken the rules. After class, the teacher reminded him that respect and discipline were important, hoping he would learn from his mistake.
