predispositions

« Back to Glossary Index

Predispositions refer to the natural tendencies or inclinations a person has toward certain behaviors, traits, or conditions. These tendencies can be influenced by genetics, upbringing, environment, or personal experiences. For example, some people may have a genetic predisposition to certain health conditions like diabetes, while others may have a natural predisposition for creativity, leadership, or athleticism. However, having a predisposition does not mean something is guaranteed to happen—it only increases the likelihood. Lifestyle choices, education, and external factors can shape or change these tendencies. Understanding predispositions can help people make informed decisions about their health, behavior, and personal growth.
